April 4-15: Scholastic Book Fair at Binkley Baptist Church – Time: 7:30-9:30am and 2:30-5:00pm daily (centers are encourage to bring their students)
April 11-14: Week of the Young Child Volunteers will Read to Children in the 2 year olds to 5 year olds classes.
April 15 (Friday): 9:00 am to 1:00 pm ONL CDC will host a Carnival provided by Binkley Baptist Church volunteers. Hotdog Lunch fund raiser (Other Child Care Centers are invited)

Chatham County

April 13/10am: Chatham County Partnership for Children will host the first ever Children's Parade in downtown Pittsboro. The parade, led by Pittsboro Mayor Randolph Voller, will start at the Pittsboro Presbyterian Church. The children will follow the sidewalk north from the courthouse 1 block and return to the Presbyterian Church via the back alley.  The theme for the parade is: Who do YOU want to be when you grow upChildren are our future!  For more information contact Genevieve Megginson or Marianne Nicholson at the Partnership, 919-542-7449.
CRSaeyc CRSaeyc will display Children’s Art Work for the month of April there was a reception held Saturday from 10:00 – 12:00 in Concord North Carolina.  Tuesday, April 12 in Stanly County there will be the proclamation by the Mayor of Albemarle, North Carolina and Children’s Art Show reception in the Stanly Community College library from 2:00 – 3:30.  All are welcome.

Franklin, Granville, Warren and Vance counties

Come one, come all and join us for a day of fun and excitement as we learn about what we eat and wear, plants, animals, and farm equipment. A variety of farm animals will be on site for looking, but no petting. Information

A celebration for the children and families at the Mooresville Partnership on Saturday, April 16.  IACaeyc members, students from Mitchell CC, and some community helpers will be leading activities from music, movement, reading, science hands on activities and others.

Moore County

Saturday, April 16: 2011 Day of Training.  A collaborative training effort between Partners for Children & Families, Sandhills Community College, and Kaplan Early Learning.  The event will provide 0.5 CEUs of training credit and serve early care and education teachers in Moore, Anson, Hoke, Lee, Scotland and Robeson Counties.  Learning. . . music. . . vendors. . . and fun to celebrate the Week of the Young Child in the Sandhills!

Monday: breakfast for our parents.
Tuesday: Pick-Up snacks for parents.
Wednesday: Take home books and snacks for families
Thursday: Family get-together party to celebrate WOTC and our families. Every one will bring a snack of choice and participate in a few fun activities.
Friday: Parents will send in their favorite music for us to share.
Each family made a poster that celebrates their family and they are to be placed in our room for all to enjoy.
Person County MONDAY - Main Street Parade with Children, Parents, Daycare Providers entering with Floats made of Recyclable Materials. Parade Starts at Museum and ends at Main Street Pavillion. Mother Goose will read a story to the children at the end of the parade.
TUESDAY - The Very Important Parents program will host a Kindergarten Readiness Rally at Earl Bradsher Preschool. Free to all parents and children. The Rally will focus on activities, games, information for parents regarding School Readiness, Importance on Reading, and Developmental Activities for Children.
WEDNESDAY - Chamber of Commerce Breakfast at Golden Corral: $2.00 donation required. Guest Speaker will discuss the importance of Children Being Our Future.
THURSDAY - Childcare Provider Banquet and Talent Show.
FRIDAY - Family Fun and Fitness Night at Sansbury Park. Join us for physical activities and fun games for the children.
SATURDAY - Family-A-Fair at Sansbury Park. Join the entire community on this day for fun filled activites, talent show, community vendors. 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Richmond County Children’s Fun Day to be held on Saturday, April 16, at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet 10am–1pm.  Hosted by Richmond County Partnership for Children and Richmond Community College.  Free to the community!
