During the last week of February, the House Select Committee on Early Education released a draft proposal of their recommendations on Early Childhood Education in North Carolina.
Hundreds of Early Childhood Advocates emailed and called the committee members with their support and concerns about several of the items.

On March 1st, the committee members backed off many of the changes they had proposed, asked the General Assembly to re-define "at-risk," and allowed for NC PreK classrooms to remian in a varied settings.
