LorieBarnes, Executive Director (lbarnes@ncaeyc.org) Lorie C. Barnes brings 25 years of early childhood education and management experience to NCaeyc's key leadership position. After graduating from East Carolina University with a BS in Child Development and Family Relations, she worked with young children with special needs and their families in Wilmington. Upon receiving her MAEd in Early Childhood Intervention and Family Support from UNC-Chapel Hill, Lorie became a faculty member in the Department of Early Childhood Education at Wake Technical Community College and most recently was Director of Education at Marbles Kid's Museum in Raleigh. Originally from northeastern North Carolina, Lorie lives in Wake County with her family. |

Patricia Hendrickson, Director of Operations (phendrickson@ncaeyc.org)
Patti has over 30 years’ experience in both the private and non-profit business sectors in the areas of office and financial management, accounting, and administrative support. Her experiences include the Wake County Child Care Resource and Referral, YWCA in Nashville, TN, PMM in Fort Wayne, IN, DHIC and SRDI in Raleigh. |

Chris Butler, Administrative Assistant (cbutler@ncaeyc.org) Chris has over 26 years experience in a public high school as Head Secrectary/Administrative Assistant for the Watertown, Connecticut Board of Education prior to her relocation to Raleigh in 2004. Her work experience primarily involved preparing and managing departmental budgets, overseeing federal, state and local grant spending, managing the Student Activity fund as well as supervising the daily operation of the school. Chris and her husband retired to Raleigh to spend time with their daughter and son-in-law, longer summers, shorter winters, and lots of golf. |

Képe Harrison, Membership and Educational Program Specialist (kharrison@ncaeyc.org) Képe comes to us from Rochester, NY by way of Wilmington, with a diverse background and strong history working with children. Her experiences include Legal Assistant, Foster/Adoptive parent, Kindergarten teacher, preschool teacher, school-age teacher, Smart Start Consultant, and owner of Playspaces Consulting, a technical assistance and training business in early childhood. She has grown in her knowledge and experiences in early childhood having taken many specialized trainings in child development and early education since moving to North Carolina. Képe is proud of her six children and enjoying her new home in Raleigh |
